Since 2005 we concern ourselves with this dog race. Thus Manfred already got his Wolve at this time, I have Kimi at my side 2 years later. Manfred became coincidentally attentively on the race and I again by Wolve and so on ...
We spend nearly our entire spare time with our dogs and are whenever it time and weather permit, also with rain, wind and cold weather, outside on the way. We do everything for the small ones and a TOLLER wants to work and is not suited so at all for the sofa dog.
For me it is the first own dog and I feel sometimes still uncertainly which education and training concerns, but I think it fold quite well. I prepared myself on the basic practice by reading many books extensively, but theory and practice....
And after long search we found in 2009 our third member to our pack of dogs: Ayo moves in with us.
Why a TOLLER?
We succumbed simply to its charm. The TOLLER is spirited, intelligently, playful and nevertheless with eagerness with the work and is a genuine rogue. Who can resist? Naturally everyone will say this about its preferential dog race, with us it is the TOLLER.
A dog needs a hobby?
All dogs are employed predominantly with dummy work. I.e. Kimi and I begin straight with the fundamentals. We train mainly basic obedience and steadiness as an important requirement for the later work. Manfred and Wolve already are in the advanced stage.
It makes terribly much fun to see the progress, even if there is sometimes only a small one. Sometimes it seems to have no progress, but suddenly it “schnaggelts” and the dog seem to have understood.
At most fun is the common training: a few heavier exercises for Wolve adapted for the training status and a few easier ones for Kimi and to the end an extensive playtime. Wolve and Kimi find it mad …, if steadiness is not the only employment. Also patience will be experienced and for a TOLLER well known a special challenge.
Our goal is to increase the level of our dogs gradually, in a way to go through besides in a trial / test or participate on a Workingtest.
With us the fun is always the center of attention. No obligation or pressure.
Anything else?
Since beginning of this year our dogs are fed with raw meat and vegetable (B.A.R.F. Natural Dog Food). It seems to do to them very well. Some one may find it exaggerated and not everyone has the time or possibility for it, but we want to keep our dogs as healthy as possible.
